Whenever an actor gets too successful, people turn on them. We’ve seen it time and time again with female actors and, more recently, it has been happening with Pedro Pascal. Frankly, it is nonsense how people react to performers but alas. At least Pete Davidson gets it.
Now I am not a fan of Theo Von but he had Pete Davidson on his podcast to talk about his life and the two began talking about Pedro Pascal. The SAG award winning actor has been on the top of his game this year, leading the charge with multiple film projects as well as his role in The Last of Us as Joel Miller. But, as is the way of the world, many have since “turned” on Pascal. Meaning they don’t want to see him in as many things.
Frankly, it is annoying. He has been working hard his entire life to get to this level of fame and now he’s suddenly “too much”? And Pete Davidson seems to agree with me! During his conversation with Von, Davidson brought up how hard Pascal worked to get to where he is now.
“He’s worked so hard, he’s been a struggling actor, blows up so f*****g hard, everyone’s like ‘daddy!’… and then a year later he’s like in everything now because he’s big and everyone’s like ‘go the f*** away dude!’ It’s like what the f*** dude?? You’ve got to give someone time to adjust to that new level of fame… it’s like we build everybody up and now it’s so fast to turn [on them]”
What really happens is that people don’t want to see someone succeed. Or better, they don’t want to see others enjoying something. So whenever fans get excited to watch Pedro Pascal in something, they see their excitement as some kind of attack and thus begins the cycle.
But what Davidson said about Pascal is right and anyway, he’s a great actor so why are people complaining anyway?!
