Pete Carroll updates Seattle’s injuries after Seahawks beat Colts Week 1

The Seattle Seahawks notched an impressive win in their first outing of the regular season, beating the Indianapolis Colts 28-16. Coach Pete Carroll updated the team’s injury situation following the victory.

Running back Rashaad Penny (calf): Penny left the game and was initially deemed questionable but ultimately did not return to the game.

“Rashaad’s calf tightened up a little bit, so we just decided – it’s so early – to just keep him out of there,” Carroll told reporters after the game. “We have three guys you know they could play by past Chris (Carson), that was all right, so we kept him out.”

Wide receiver Penny Hart (head): Hart took a hit to the head and was ruled out for precautionary measures.

Wide receiver Dee Eskridge (head): Eskridge also sustained a hard head hit and is being evaluated for a concussion.

“Penny Hart had a concussion of concern, so we had to keep him out,” Carroll said. “(Eskridge) also had a concussion. We don’t know how serious those are until we really get some time on it, but enough that we need to keep them out.”

Offensive lineman Ethan Pocic (knee): “He sprained his knee a little bit,” Carroll said. “We’re not sure how bad that is, we’ve got to wait and see.”
