Pete Carroll updates Seahawks injuries during NFL combine presser

While coaches, general managers and scouts are in knee-deep in evaluating prospects for the year’s NFL draft, the Seattle Seahawks and other players around the league are enjoying a vacation – time to recuperate from the wear and tear of last season.

During his press conference at the NFL combine, coach Pete Carroll provided a number of Seahawks injury updates.

“We’re very fortunate that we go into the offseason in pretty good shape,” Carroll said Thursday. “The guys are working hard enough and we’re counting on everybody to be back in May.”

Tight end Will Dissly, who was placed on the injured reserve following the Week 4 win against the Cardinals, is still recovering from his torn patellar tendon.

“There’s nothing that’s really in question other than the timeline for Will Dissly, we’ve just got to wait him out,” Carroll explained. “He’s doing great and he’s working like crazy and all that, but he’s going to take a little longer than the other guys.”

As for wide receiver Doug Baldwin, he’s on the mend from multiple surgeries this offseason.

“He’s making progress, working at it hard,” Carroll stated. “He’s working at the facility regularly. His spirits are good about it. He’s got some work to do, he’s got a shoulder and a knee thing that he’s working on. He got some stuff fixed up.”

Carroll also added Jordan Simmons (knee) and safety Delano Hill (hip) are both doing “fine” after finishing the year the injured reserve.
