Pete Carroll took an errant football to the face during warmups

Of all the people for a football to hit during warmups, it apparently had to be one of the few people not wearing a helmet …. Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll.

Fans noticed during Sunday’s game between the Seahawks and Saints that Carroll’s nose was stitched up and looking rough on the sidelines.

That was because Carroll took a football to the face as he was running off the field during warmups. The best video of the incident wasn’t great, but we can see a ball striking the Seahawks head coach from a distance. Carroll ran in the path of a throw from linebacker Cody Barton.

Ouch.

But Carroll toughed it out. He was on the sidelines for kickoff after being attended to by the training staff.

He’ll have to keep his head on a swivel for now on.
