Former Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas was released by the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday for conduct detrimental to the team. Thomas had been involved in a scuffle with teammate Chuck Clark and had been sent home from training camp practice over the weekend.
Coach Pete Carroll was asked about the situation during his Zoom press conference with reporters on Monday morning.
“It’s been a tough time for Earl,” Carroll said. “That’s a hard situation. I feel bad for him and wish he could have avoided that from happening . . . whatever that was.
“That’s a bad state to get in when they send you home.”
Carroll said Thomas rarely spoke out when he was with the Seahawks and was relatively quiet, mostly keeping to himself. However, it’s no secret Thomas and Seattle parted ways with little love lost.
There are still those hoping for a reunion in Seattle, but all things considered, Thomas will likely be best suited with his third team in three years, instead.
