Pete Carroll confirms Doug Baldwin will undergo hernia surgery in April

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin battled a number of injuries last year and has already undergone surgeries to his knee and shoulder this offseason.

The wide receiver appeared on Sports Radio 950 KJR last week and revealed that “more surgeries [are] on the way, most likely.”

After the interview, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported Baldwin was scheduled to meet with Dr. William Meyers in Philadelphia in early April to evaluate a possible sports hernia.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll confirmed the news Tuesday morning during his press conference with the media at the owner’s meetings in Arizona.

No specific date was given for the operation.

Per Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times, Carroll did not provide any specific timeline for Baldwin’s return other than to say he has “some challenges to overcome to get healthy.”

With April just a week away, it’s likely more information won’t become available until Baldwin’s surgery has been completed.
