Pet Sematary post-credits scene: Does Stephen King's new film have one?

Post-credit scenes seem to be all the rage at the moment, but does Stephen King's Pet Sematary have one?

The new horror movie adaptation of King's book and the 1989 movie is now in cinemas.

The book was considered to be one of King's scariest stories, while the new one does have an equal amount of scares it changes a few key things.

Instead of Gage becoming the killer kid Ellie takes up the mantle changing the main storyline.

There's also a different ending as a result - we have our ending explained to breakdown when you've seen it.

Pet Sematary's story is, at its heart, the same story.

Louis (Jason Clarke) and his family move to Maine for a quieter life and end up with a huge chunk of land including a wood that has an ancient burial ground on it.

The Pet Sematary is part of the plot.

Neighbour Jud (John Lithgow) lets Louis know about the burial ground deep in the woods and they resurrect Ellie's cat Church after they find his lifeless body at the side of the road.

But Church comes back changed.

After that the story changes from the book and the 1989 film where Gage gets hit by a truck and dies only to be resurrected. In this version it's Ellie.

We soon learn that "sometimes dead is better".

Is there a post-credits scene in Pet Sematary?

So after those credits roll do you need to stick around? Nope you don't. Pet Sematary does not have an post-credits scene.

If you are interested a cover of The Ramones' Pet Sematary by Starcrawler plays over the credits.

The Ramones' song played over the 1989 credits. The singer met King, who is a fan of the band, and Dee Dee Ramone ended up releasing the track with the movie.

Will there be a Pet Sematary sequel?

While there's no post-credits scene that doesn't mean there won't be a sequel. There isn't one in works at the moment but the original 1989 movie got a 1992 sequel.

Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura has said there is room for another film, but a prequel that looks at how the burial ground came about.
