Some people see the Virgin Mary on their toasted sandwich, or Jesus in their naan bread.
While Blyth dog-lover Denise Toon's unlikely sighting might not be as holy as that, it is certainly adorable.
Last month, the 52-year-old was surprised after snapping a picture of her Jack Russell Lola's newborn puppies.
Zooming in however, she saw markings on the nose of one of the puppies - which bore an uncanny resemblance to the face of Betty Boop, a popular cartoon character.
Originally called Dixie, the puppy's unusual pattern on the end of her muzzle saw Denise changed her mind, Chronicle Live reported.

She said: "he was in her bed, lying upside down, I saw the markings.
"I looked away, and when I looked again I thought, oh my God, that's Betty Boop on her nose.
"As soon as I saw it, I knew her name had to be Betty.
"I put the picture on my Facebook page and everyone was saying yes, it is, that's Betty Boop."
There's a growing sense of pessimism that the markings of the famous character - who made her first appearance in the 'Dizzy Dishes' cartoon, and has served as the model for countless figurines, posters and t-shirts - won't exist as Betty grows older.

But the Blyth grandmother says she'll enjoy the memory of the unusual inspiration for the dog's name.
The pooch and her sister Bonnie are two-year-old Lola's first puppies, and little Betty is now set to stay with her mum and Denise.
Denise said: "As soon as I saw her I fell in love.
"For the first couple nights she wasn't growing as much as her sister, she was really tiny at first.
"But she's doing really well now."
