Mexican superstar Peso Pluma is officially back in the spotlight. After taking a break from the road following the end of his record-breaking Éxodo Tour in 2024, the Guadalajara-born superstar will return to the big stage at the 2025 Billboard Latin Music Awards. On October 23, he will perform live at Miami's James L. Knight Center as well as make history as the first-ever recipient of the Billboard Vanguard Award. He also has nine nominations.
La Arrolladora Banda El Limón de René Camacho, Laura Pausini, Olga Tañón, Ozuna, Beéle, Danny Ocean, Juan Duque, Musza, Netón Vega, NXNNI, and Óscar Maydon have also been announced as part of the show.
Since wrapping up Éxodo, Peso Pluma has kept a relatively low profile. Aside from a handful of festival appearances, special cameos, and paparazzi shots with girlfriend Kenia OS, he has largely stayed away from major stages.
Fans last saw him at theBésame Mucho Festival in Austin, Texas, and in a surprise guest slot at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. His return at the Billboard Latin Music Awards will mark his first televised performance since stepping back, making the moment even more anticipated.

Music, Fashion, and Global Reach
Even while on a break, Peso Pluma continued to make headlines. Earlier this year, he was invited by Anna Wintour to attend a major fashion event in New York, cementing his place not only in music but also in style and culture.
Joining a Lineage of Latin Icons
The Billboard Vanguard Award was created to honor visionaries who break conventions and push music forward. Peso Pluma has done just that, redefining Música Mexicana for a global audience.
His 2023 hit Ella Baila Sola with Eslabon Armado was the first regional Mexican track to break into the Billboard Hot 100 Top 10, later surpassing one billion Spotify streams. That same year, his Grammy-winning album Génesis debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200.
Although Peso Pluma is the first to receive the Vanguard Award, the Billboard Latin Music Awards have a history of celebrating groundbreaking figures. Previous honorees in other categories include Shakira, Marc Anthony, Daddy Yankee, and Gloria Estefan, artists who have helped shape Latin music for global audiences. Peso Pluma now joins that legacy while marking the beginning of a new chapter for his genre.
The show will air on Telemundo at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT, stream on Peacock, and reach audiences across Latin America on Telemundo Internacional.
