PES 2021 shows FIFA 21 how Man United's Mason Greenwood should look after update

Following the release of Data Pack 5 for Konami's eFootball PES 2021 game, Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood has received a brand new updated game face.

United have a long-term partnership in place with Konami, the developers and publishers of the Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) game series, which allows Konami to use United's player likenesses, club badge, club name, club kits, Old Trafford and more in their games.

There is even a special Manchester United version of Konami's latest release, eFootball PES 2021 Season Update, where fans can access exclusive United content on the game, including an exclusive loading screen, access to legends and more.

But eFootball PES 2021 Season Update isn't a brand new version of the game, in fact, Konami made the decision to simply release a very similar version of last year's eFootball PES 2020 game, but with updated transfers, kits and more, with a brand new game expected to be released this year.

Konami have released a number of Data Pack updates throughout this season, with their latest update named Data Pack 5, seeing a number of players having their game faces updated.

One of those players in United forward Greenwood, who looks incredibly realistic on the game following the latest update.

However, Konami isn't the only game's publisher allowed to digitally recreate the United squad within a video game.

Because EA Sports, the developers and publishers of the popular FIFA gaming franchise, have a comprehensive licensing deal with the Premier League, which can be seen in their latest gaming title FIFA 21.

But when FIFA 21 was released back in October 2020, fans realised that United striker Greenwood looked nothing like he did in real-life, and his face has yet to be updated in the game.

In February 2021, EA Sports exclusively spoke to MEN about the reasons why Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood is yet to receive a realistic game face on FIFA 21.

An EA Sports spokesperson told MEN: "Due to the current global pandemic, unfortunately we haven’t been able to visit the training ground this year due to club restrictions on external party access.

"We were able to capture Brandon Williams’ head scan during a visit to Carrington in February 2020 but Mason was unavailable to attend this session.”

But following the latest Data Pack update from Konami, EA Sports have now been shown how Mason Greenwood should look on FIFA 21, with changes to his game face expected in future FIFA titles.

What do you make of how Greenwood looks on FIFA 21 versus how he looks on eFootball PES 2021 Season Update?
