Pervert sent sex act video, mum left 'fighting for life' and vicious dog

These are the latest ECHO headlines this morning.

Vile Pets at Home worker found with indecent images of children on phone

A vile pervert who sent his partner a video of himself performing a sex act in front of a young girl said "what have I done" as police stormed his home.

Three months after Phil Hudson, 33, and the woman broke up, she went to Huyton police station and reported he was saying things about a child that disturbed her. She told officers “he started to disclose his fantasies and desires around children”, said Kate Morley, prosecuting at Liverpool Crown Court on Monday, August 15.

She said he sent her a video of him engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child. She still had the video on her phone and gave it to officers for investigation.

Liverpool Crown Court heard the 33-year-old university graduate, who had been working at Pets at Home and had a partner, was arrested on June 15 this year at his home in Garston. When being arrested he said “What have I done?”

He said he had had “a fling” with the woman and “had to leave his job and she was accusing him of serious offences.”

Miss Morley said when Hudson's phone was forensically examined, officers found seven indecent images of children as well as extreme pornography. When interviewed the man, who has no previous convictions, claimed to have no interest in children but he subsequently pleaded guilty to nine child sex offences and possessing extreme pornography.

Pregnant mum left 'fighting for life' after 'horrendous' pain in groin

A mum was left fighting for her life after experiencing a "horrendous" pain in her groin while pregnant.

Jayne Salisbury-Jones, 35, and her husband, Richard, were delighted when they found out they were expecting a baby in September 2018, shortly after getting married. However, just months into her pregnancy, Jayne started to encounter a number of health issues.

She told the ECHO : “I was unbelievably happy when I found out I was pregnant because I have endometriosis so it wasn’t a given that I would get pregnant at all. We’d only got married the Christmas before so it all happened so quickly. It was incredible.

"I was working as a teacher at a primary school in Wallasey and I was in work, just doing my usual day, when I got the most horrendous pain in both sides of my groin."

Jayne, from Greasby, was taken to hospital where she discovered she had bilateral inguinal hernias, which can often develop in the groin during pregnancy. The 35-year-old turned down a procedure to remove the hernias, due to fears it would be "dangerous" for her unborn son.

She said: "I was very, very sick throughout my pregnancy. I had several hospital admissions and morning sickness every day. At 34 weeks, I just ballooned, - my toes, my feet, my ankles - everything."

Dog that viciously attacked boy, 4, at friend's house

The first picture of the dog that is believed to have viciously attacked a four-year-old boy in Norris Green at the weekend has emerged.

Merseyside Police confirmed officers were called to Wellesbourne Place in Norris Green at around 7pm on Saturday, August 13 to reports of a dog attack. Thanks to help from neighbours, the dog was pulled away from the boy and he is then believed to have been taken to hospital by car.

The boy, who was believed to have been visiting a friend's house, has serious injuries and his condition is said to be serious but stable. Following the attack, a 31-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of being in charge of an out-of-control dangerous dog causing injury and has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

The dog has been seized and work is currently ongoing to identify the breed. Initially, it was reported that the dog was believed to be a Bullmastiff-type breed.

Detective Inspector Neil Dillon said earlier today: “This was an horrendous attack on a four-year-old boy and it is only as a result of the swift actions of a brave neighbour that this young boy is still alive. The four-year-old has sustained significant injuries to his head and face.

“I would like to reassure everyone that we are working tirelessly to establish the full circumstances of the incident. If you were in the area of Wellesbourne Place at around 7pm and witnessed anything, or have any information about the dog in question then please come forward to speak to one of our officers."
