'Loving' man was found dead in alleyway on what would have been his birthday

The body of a man whose death is being treated as murder was discovered dead on what would have been his birthday.

James Richards, who is believed to be a dad, was described by family as "loving and generous", was found in an alley in Kirkdale seven days ago.

Three men and a woman have been questioned on suspicion of his murder.

Mr Richards was discovered in a private passage between homes on Woodbine Street and Harebell Street on the afternoon of Wednesday, September 22.

Father Thomas MacCarte sexually abused two altar boys (Liverpool Echo)

A Catholic priest let altar boys smoke cannabis and drink alcohol so he could sexually abuse them.

One of Father Thomas MacCarte's victims thought the priest was "cool" for letting them hang out in his room.

But there was "another side" to MacCarte, who preyed on children at Bishop Eton Monastery in Woolton Road, Childwall.

Liverpool Crown Court heard the pervert made one teenage boy watch gay porn, before twice performing a sex act on him.

Man pays £273 for 'damp' Adelphi room with 'nicotine stains' on walls

A carer claims he paid £273 for a two-night stay at the Adelphi Hotel where the room had "nicotine stains" on the walls and "smelt of damp".

Ryan Caine, who is originally from Liverpool but now lives in Glasgow, came to visit the city with his dad who he cares for.

The 27-year-old claims he paid £136.50 a night for two nights at the hotel on Saturday, September 25 to Sunday, September 26.
