Pervert policeman hounded mum with naked selfies when she reported kidnap threat

A young mum has opened up about her ordeal at the hands of a police officer who hounded her with sex texts and naked selfies while investigating a crime complaint.

PC David Taylor, 37 harassed the woman after she went to police to report domestic abuse by her ex-partner, who had threatened to kidnap her daughter.

But the woman, also 37, told how the disgraced Glasgow officer left her feeling that going to the police was the biggest mistake of her life, the Daily Record reports.

Kilmarnock Sheriff Court heard Taylor targeted three vulnerable women between 2011 and 2018.

He admitted sending indecent images to the woman, sending indecent images to a sex assault victim and stalking her, and communicating indecently with another domestic abuse survivor.

The victim who spoke out suffers nightmares that the officer might come back for her.

She explained: “I went to the police for help, I was brought up to have respect and automatically trust the police.

“When it came to reporting an incident, I had no need to think it would be my worst decision ever. PC David Taylor had all the details, knew how I felt, saw the reaction to things that had happened and the effect it had on me.

“I had the most horrible experience with an ex. I had children to think about. So a married police officer who was constantly harassing me was not something I needed or wanted in my life.”

The woman added that the stress of reporting Taylor to fellow officers was an emotional rollercoaster.

She said: “When I was told he had been arrested with numerous charges against him, I just cried.

“I knew at that time he was inside the police office in handcuffs and it’s probably the only time I felt the safest.

“I have new nightmares of him coming after me while waiting for his sentencing, I can remember so vividly the fear I felt.

“His sleazy videos and the disgust on my face.”

Taylor was put on the sex offenders’ register after pleading guilty to four of the 13 charges he faced earlier this month. He was warned he could face jail.
