Pervert filmed carrying out sex act in Scotland's most expensive street after being ejected from party

A pervert was filmed on a mobile phone while masturbating in Scotland’s most expensive street after being thrown out of a party.

Mahdi Mohammad exposed himself where two women party-goers inside the property in Edinburgh’s plush Regent Terrace could see him through the window.

The 38-year-old carried out the sordid sex act in broad daylight in a street where houses fetch an average of £1.75 million.

One of the women videoed Mohammad and called the police, handing over the evidence to officers who then arrested him.

Mohammad appeared at the city’s sheriff court on Friday and pled guilty to exposing himself in a sexual manner.

Fiscal depute Sinah Idress said a group of people were in the home, including Mohammad, following a night-out in the city.

Ms Idress said one of the women told Mohammad to leave the property at around 8.30am but he continued to hang around outside.

The court heard the second woman saw Mohammed “playing with himself above his jeans” while he was sitting on the steps outside the living room window.

Ms Idress said the woman saw Mohammad move to another set of steps and she “recorded the accused while he has been masturbating”.

The prosecutor said the woman called the police and showed the phone video to officers who arrived at 10.30am.

The court heard Mohammad was arrested and taken to St Leonards police station.

Mohammad admitted a charge of intentionally exposing his genitals in a sexual manner to the two women, who were both in their 20s, with the intention they would see them, in that he exposed and masturbated his naked penis.

The incident took place on August 12 2019.

Sheriff John Cook deferred sentence on Mohammad, of the city’s Wardieburn area, until next month for reports.

In December it was revealed Regent Terrace, which lies within Edinburgh’s Unesco world heritage site, had been named the most expensive in Scotland. The research on the priciest addresses was carried out by Bank of Scotland.

The average property price on Regent Terrace was £1.75m, narrowly beating Golf Place in St Andrews.

The architect William Playfair designed the 34 townhouses on the road, which were built between 1826 and 1833. Its famous residents has included French and Italian royalty, the painter Sir George Harvey, and the composer Sir Peter Maxwell Davies. The American consulate has been on the street since the 1950s.
