Perthshire primary pupils improve their playground

Pupils at a Big County primary school have spruced up their outdoor space to enjoy a seat in the sunshine and to attract more wildlife.

At Muthill PS Mrs Reid’s class have been working really hard to make some improvements in their playground.

The result is flowers, bird boxes, a recycled wooden pallet bench and lots of happy time outside.

Mrs Reid’s Bo Robertson (P6) wrote a wee report on their activities: “This term, P5/6/7 at Muthill Primary have been working hard to upgrade our playground.

“John Garrow (P7)and Jacob Staines (P6) made some bird boxes, Oli Mitchell (P6) and Oscar Cannon (P6) both made a bench and we’ve planted lots of flowers.

“One of our parents, a former pupil himself, made us two benches and two local garden centres donated plants and compost.

“We’d like to say a huge thank you to PJ Winkle at Bennybeg Garden Centre and Mike Riddell at Crieff Garden Centre.”

Mrs Reid added that the next new addition to Muthill PS’s outdoor experience will be a mud kitchen.
