Perthshire fundraiser helping to fight COVID-19 while supporting vital Kinross charity

A Perthshire fundraising volunteer is appealing for local residents to consider purchasing her specially-branded face coverings to help raise money for a national children’s charity.

Jackie Campbell, from Invergowrie, has been making and selling a variety of patterned face masks and crochet rainbows since April, with her colourful creations raising £7500 to date for Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS), which runs Rachel House in Kinross.

In a bid to boost funds further in the run up to Christmas, Jackie is now making and selling specially-branded CHAS face coverings and snoods, created in partnership with Myriad Motifs in Dundee.

She said: “The year 2020 has been tough for all of us, but CHAS needs our support, now more than ever to help families of children with life limiting conditions, and I am delighted to be able to offer these specially branded facemasks to anyone who would like to purchase one.

Jackie added: “I am so grateful to everyone for their support and a special thanks must go to Maureen at Myriad Motifs in Dundee for her invaluable help and expertise in creating the CHAS branded products.

“I would also like to thank my sister Lesley Carroll for sewing over 600 masks singlehandedly before we drafted in other volunteers to help.”

Jackie’s CHAS branded facemasks and snoods cost £6 each (plus postage if required) with £3 from the sale of each product going directly to CHAS.

CHAS community fundraiser, Emma Moore said: “Jackie is such an amazing fundraiser and we are truly grateful for her raising such an incredible amount for us already through this creative fundraiser and for continuing to raise more in the run up to Christmas.

“I can personally confirm the CHAS face coverings are every bit as comfortable and stylish as they look.

“They would make terrific Christmas presents or stocking fillers and everyone who buys one will be directly helping the children and families we support right across Scotland.”
