Perth woman left frightened to leave her home after car she was driving was attacked by pole-wielding thug

A Perth woman has told how she is scared to leave the house after a pole-wielding thug attacked the car she was driving.

Jamie Miller was jailed for 20 months for the wrecking spree, but Michelle Hall (35) reckons he should have been locked up for longer.

Michelle had driven three others to Milnathort to see Miller on December 3 last year.

The court was told the back window was smashed and the front windscreen was also damaged.

Miller also shouted at Michelle: “I’ll slit your f***ing throat.”

Michelle had been asked to drive to see Miller by his ex partner.

She told the Perthshire Advertiser she suffers from mental health problems which have got worse since the incident.

Although Miller is behind bars, she is scared someone will seek her out for retribution.

She said: “I am not sleeping great, I don’t leave my own house.

“It’s been very stressful. I have mental health problems and this has just made everything worse.”

Michelle was disappointed that Miller’s lawyer said his threat to slit her throat was “not a threat he would have carried out”.

She said: “That’s not really the point, it has caused me great anxiety.

“I do not think justice has been done. He will be out in half of that time.”

Michelle revealed that while she was waiting for her car, which she had bought only a few days beforehand, to be fixed, heavy rain ruined it as the windows had been smashed.

She also had to request a new house as she did not feel safe where she stayed.

Miller admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner, and damaging the car with the pole in Old Perth Road, Milnathort, on December 3, 2020.

He also drove while disqualified.

The jail term was backdated to December 16 when Miller was first remanded.
