Perth Wetherspoon's hopes to reopen after burst pipe during Storm Dennis forced closure

A popular Perth pub is hoping to reopen today after it had to close due to a burst pipe.

Wetherspoon’s The Capital Asset on Tay Street has been closed for the last three and a half days.

The burst pipe caused drainage issues at the pub and contractors were on site throughout the week to deal with the issue.

It has also undergone a deep clean.

However, it is hoped the pub will reopen again on Friday, February 21 in time for the weekend.

A notice had been pinned to Wetherspoon’s front doors this week reading: “Due to technical difficulties the pub has to close for trading.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

The burst pipe came as Perth was hit with a deluge of rain during Storm Dennis this week.

A number of areas across Perth and Kinross were flooded during the storm.
