New Zealand blaster Colin Munro has set his sights on snaring BBL glory after deciding to return to the Perth Scorchers for the upcoming season.

Munro finished last season as the BBL's fifth-highest run scorer with 443 runs at an average of 31.64.

The 34-year-old's hot form helped power the Scorchers to the final, where they lost to the Sydney Sixers.

Munro, who played one Test, 57 ODIs, and 65 T20s for NZ, is looking forward to rejoining the Scorchers.

"I'm absolutely thrilled to be returning to such a successful club, I loved my time with the Scorchers last season," Munro said.

"Last season was very unique with the amount of time spent in bubbles, but it gave me the opportunity to bond with the Perth team and immediately I felt at home with the boys.

"It was special to be part of last season's run to the (final). We have a talented and confident group and will be aiming to go one better this season."

Munro is the first import that the Scorchers have named for the new campaign.

Their season begins on December 8 against the Brisbane Heat at Optus Stadium.
