Perth pool to shut for 20 days

The main swimming pool at Perth Leisure Pool is set to be closed for almost three weeks.

Live Active Leisure has announced it will be closing off the majority of the leisure pool in the run up to Christmas for essential maintenance work.

From Saturday, December 7 until Thursday, December 26, the main leisure pool, flumes, children’s monkey jungle pool and the health suite will all be closed off.

This is so Live Active Leisure, which runs the leisure pool, can carry out essential maintenance works.

However, during the closure, the training pool, teaching pool, gym and cafe will remain open, with Live Active saying it strives to minimise disruption to its customers.

Gary Watson, director of operational services at Live Active Leisure, said: “We take service interruption of any of our buildings and services seriously, weighing up the impact on customers and community before final decisions are reached.

“However, we do try and reduce any impact to our customers where possible.”

This is the first of two periods of planned essential maintenance at Perth Leisure Pool.

The second phase of maintenance works is proposed to be carried out in autumn 2020.

The leisure pool, flume tower, children’s pool and health suite are all due to reopen on Friday, December 27.
