Perth landmarks turn blue and yellow to show support for Ukraine

Perth and Kinross Council has lit up city landmarks blue and yellow to show support for Ukraine.

On Thursday, Russian forces launched an assault on Ukraine from land, air, and sea in the biggest attack by one state against another in Europe since World War II.

The move has brought global condemnation from world leaders.

Over the weekend Perth Bridge and St Paul’s Church turned blue and yellow to represent the colours of the Ukrainian flag.

Perth and Kinross Council posted: “Thank you to everyone who has got in touch to ask us to consider doing this.

“It is heartwarming to see the care from local residents to people across the world and for Ukrainians living locally, and we are pleased to be able to reflect that support in the city’s structural lighting.”
