Perth High School broken into by group of youths

A group of youths broke into Perth High School grounds last week.

The individuals were spotted by local residents last Wednesday evening around 8.30pm, with some even seen on the roof of one of the buildings.

Perth and Kinross councillors say replacement school should get new name

A Perth and Kinross Council spokesperson said they were “aware of a break in at Perth High School” and had “taken action to make the building more secure”.

Perth City South councillor Sheila McCole commented: “Damage to school property at any time is regrettable, and I would expect anyone who accesses and uses school buildings to respect school environments at all times.

“However, at this particular time during the coronavirus pandemic, when our citizens across Perth and Kinross have shown great resilience and observance of social distancing and other Scottish Government guidance to keep us all safe and well, it is particularly disappointing that some individuals have not taken this guidance on board.

“Such actions not only endanger themselves, but also impacts on the resources of our emergency services.”
