Perth city centre street cordoned off after concerns for a person

A busy Perth city centre street has been cordoned off by police after concerns for a person.

Skinnergate, which runs between High Street and Mill Street, has been cordoned off by police officers this morning (Friday, June 14).

Police tape is blocking the path on both sides, along with police vans.

There is a heavy police presence on the pedestrianised thoroughfare.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland’s Tayside division said the cordon was due to “concerns for a person”.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were also called to the scene at around 11.45am to assist police officers.

The police spokesperson said the cordon will be in place while the incident is investigated.
