UFC flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko has frequently made clear that one of her favorite aspects of her fight career is the ability to travel and see the world.
Well, now the Peru resident by way of Kyrgyzstan is about to add some serious miles to her frequent flyer account: the champion’s June 6 title defense against Joanne Calderwood at UFC 251 will go down in Perth, Australia.
The UFC announced the location for the event via social media Monday.
UFC 251 will mark the UFC’s first visit to Australia in 2020. It’s also the second time the octagon touches down in the Western Australia locale: UFC 221 was headlined by Yoel Romero’s victory over Luke Rockhold.
