Perth and Kinross will move to level one COVID restrictions from this Saturday morning.
Among the many rule changes, more people will be allowed to meet up in private and in public and pubs and restaurants can stay open until 11pm.
The rule easing will take effect from 00.01am on Saturday, June 5.
First minister Nicola Sturgeon made the announcement during her COVID briefing at Holyrood today (June 1), saying the move was for areas where cases are at low levels or are "broadly stable".
The region joins the Highland, Argyle and Bute, Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire, Moray, Angus, Falkirk, Fife, Inverclyde, East and West Lothian, East Dunbartonshire, Dumfries and Galloway and the Borders areas in easing restrictions to level one.
However, the neighbouring Dundee, Clackmannanshire and Stirling areas will remain in level two after a recent rise in coronavirus cases.
In summary, the first minister said: "All of us have a part to play in beating the virus back.
"Get tested regularly and test yourself twice a week.
"The more we get tested the more cases we find and the more we can break the chain of transmission.
"Make sure you get vaccinated when you are invited to.
"Getting vaccinated is in our own best interest.
"We can keep on the right track and make progress over the summer to live less restricted lives."
