Perth and Kinross remind public stay out of skateparks, play areas and ball courts

Perth and Kinross Council has reissued reminders for the public to refrain from using public play areas, skateparks and ball courts.

The call comes amid concerns the Easter holidays and good weather will tempt people, particularly the young, to go outside.

PKC is keen to stop youths flouting advice to remain indoors during this critical time when infection numbers in Tayside are at their highest so far.

On Wednesday, the local authority posted a notice on its Perth And Kinross Council website.

It said:"All public play areas, skateparks and ball courts will be closed until further notice to help with the national effort to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

"They will be reopened as soon as it is safe to do so.

"Our public parks are still available for taking daily exercise, however, please do remember that gatherings of more than two are restricted to household members only.

"Other paths in your area are available to use, however, please avoid driving and follow the advice to stay local.
