Perth and Kinross Council is seeking a new chief executive.
The successful applicant will be paid a six-figure sum to take the helm of the local authority.
The vacancy has arisen following the current chief executive’s appointment as the new chief executive of NHS Education for Scotland (NES).
Karen Reid has been leading PKC for just over two years. She will take up her new role with NES on February 1.
PKC is now advertising for someone to fill the top job at PKC.
The successful applicant will earn £138,047 to work a 36-hour week.
The advert placed on the job website for public sector and third sector jobs myjobscotland.gov.uk states: “Never has there been a more exciting time to take on the executive leadership role as chief executive of Perth and Kinross Council.”
The council hopes to attract someone who will “provide inspirational leadership, vision and direction to shape and deliver” the Perth and Kinross Offer.
Mrs Reid has played an instrumental part in creating the Perth and Kinross Offer. The ‘Offer’ is designed to involve local businesses, residents and organisations/groups more in the decisions affecting them.
The job advert also makes reference to PKC 's green ambitions. The council is looking for an individual who is “ambitious and passionate about creating a more sustainable and stronger Perth and Kinross.”
The new chief executive will “provide effective leadership and operational management of all council services, ensuring good governance and promoting fairness, equality and empowerment and a culture of innovation.”

At Wednesday’s meeting of Perth and Kinross Council councillors will be asked to appoint Barbara Renton - in her capacity as interim chief executive - as the returning officer for PKC.
The Scottish Parliament Elections are due to take place on May 6.
