Perth and Kinross Council apologises and launches probe into school staff video shared on social media

Perth and Kinross Council has apologised and launched an investigation after a video of primary school staff was shared on social media.

The council has pledged to “take appropriate action where necessary”.

An outraged mum at the Perth school shared the clip - in which a pupil's name is mentioned by staff playing a game - on social media.

Perth and Kinross Council has confirmed it is aware of the video footage and is investigating the incident.

A Perth and Kinross Council spokesperson said: "We are aware of a video being circulated on social media. We will be carrying out a full investigation into this incident and will take appropriate action where necessary.

"We apologise for any offence caused and would reassure parents and guardians that all Perth and Kinross Council employees are expected to abide by our Code of Conduct."

Learning and Families convener SNP councillor John Rebbeck, who represents Perth City North, praised the general standard of care at the school and said: "Importantly, a full investigation is already under way, which I very much welcome."
