A plane has crashed into a light tower at Perth Airport, with emergency service rushing to the scene.

There were 62 passengers and four staff onboard the flight, according to reports.

The aircraft had just landed when it happened at around 2.20pm local time.

No injuries have been recorded, and an investigation has been launched.

A post said: "Perth Airport can confirm a Cobham aircraft made impact with a light tower while taxiing in the General Aviation area at approximately 2.20pm.

"Emergency services are onsite however there are no injuries to passengers or crew.

"This incident has not impacted any other operations or services at Perth Airport. A statement from Cobham Aviation will be issued shortly."

In a statement to Perth Now, Cobham Aviation said: “The aircraft was departing from Cobham’s ramp when it came into contact with ground equipment,” they said.

“As a result, the nose of the aircraft was damaged.

“None of the 62 passengers or four crew on board were injured."

It said the aircraft was operating a service to Western Australia.

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau has been notified about the incident.
