Persona 5 is leaving PS Plus in May

The dazzling JRPG epic that is Persona 5 is leaving the PS Plus Collection soon.

On Wednesday, the PlayStation Blog made an update regarding upcoming free games for PS Plus. The good news is that those leaks from earlier this week were legit. The bad news is that Persona 5 will leave the PS Plus Collection on May 11, 2022. After that date, only active subscribers can continue playing the game if they add it to their library.

It sucks when games leave subscription services, especially something like Persona 5, which takes roughly 100 hours on a first playthrough. RPGs certainly aren’t known for brevity!

However, it’s important to note that Persona 5 Royal isn’t on PS Plus Collection, and most everyone considers it the definitive edition of Persona 5. There are loads of new scenarios, questlines, gameplay improvements, and even a new character named Kasumi. Think of it like a suped-up game of the year edition, and that’s pretty much what Persona 5 Royal is.

So if plowing through a ridiculously long RPG in barely six weeks doesn’t sound ideal, key an eye on Persona 5 Royal.
