Persona 4 Revival gets rating in Korea as new NexTone BGM registration appears

Persona 4 Revival has been rated in South Korea, just days before 2026’s Xbox Games Showcase, the event where it was officially unveiled a year ago.

For those unaware, upcoming games usually get Korean ratings roughly a few months before their launch. Release date announcements usually follow weeks or even days after a game has been officially rated in Korea or Taiwan.

Interestingly, this new update coincides with another big milestone for Persona 4 Revival. Sega and Atlus have filed a copyright for the game’s BGM on NexTone, a Japanese copyright management company.

A new entry for Persona 4 Revival BGM now appears in NexTone’s database, as reported by Persona Central, though it doesn’t include information such as track list or lyrics credits.

Both these minuscule events point to a singular, most sought-after update – a new trailer and release date announcement for Persona 4 Revival.

Persona 4 Revival release date may finally be announced in a few weeks, most likely at the Xbox Games Showcase 2026. It’s primarily because Sega seems to have some sort of marketing deal with Xbox, what with the whole Stranger than Heaven showcase, but also because P4R will be available day one on Xbox Game Pass.

That said, we may get a short clip at Summer Game Fest that teases a longer trailer and release date reveal at the Xbox Showcase.

As for the release date, Persona 4 Revival is planned for the fiscal year 2027 (April 2026 – March 2027). February 2027 is a befitting window for this P4 remake, especially since the company launched Persona 3 Reload on February 2, 2024. Interestingly, this release window coincides with the P4R Funko Pop leak, which also suggests an early 2027 launch for this remake.

In other news, as spotted by Gematsu, highly anticipated titles Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse and Gears of War: E Day have also been rated in Korea. The former may appear at PlayStation’s State of Play on June 2, whereas the latter is confirmed for the Xbox Games Showcase on June 7.
