Person trapped as two car Wallasey crash closes road

Firecrews had to cut free a person trapped in a vehicle after a two-car smash this morning.

Images show one of the two cars involved badly mangled and fire and police at the scene in Wallasey.

Police said they were called around 9.10am after report of a crash involving two vehicles on Liscard Road on the junction with Martins Lane.

And fire officials confirmed they had to cut a person trapped in one of the cars free.

Nobody required hospital treatment, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said.

The road was partially blocked while emergency services dealt with the incident but is has since reopened.

A Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service (MFRS) spokesperson said: "We were alerted to a road traffic colllision nvolving two vehicles at Martins Lane, Liscard Road in Wallasey at 9.14am and on scene at 9.18am.

"Both vehicles were on all four wheels on arrival at the incident."

He added: "Three of the four occupants self-extricated. Crews took the lead of North West Ambulance Service to extricate the fourth person. No occupants required conveyance to hospital.

"ncident then handed over to Merseyside Police and North West Ambulance Service personnel. MFRS crews left the incident at 9.39am."

A North West Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We attended but didn’t take anyone to hospital."
