A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At approximately 5.20pm on Friday 10th September, one fire engine from Ashton fire station attended an incident on Manchester Road, Audenshaw involving two cars.

“Crews arrived quickly and assisted other emergency services.

“One casualty was conveyed to hospital by NWAS. Fire crews were on the scene for approximately one hour 30 minutes.”

The incident resulted in a section of Manchester Road being temporarily closed.

At 6.05pm on Friday, TfGM posted on social media: “Road closed in both directions between Audenshaw Road and Kershaw Lane.

“This is due to a road traffic collision with emergency services in attendance.”

TfGM posted an update over an hour later to say the incident had cleared and the road had reopened.
