Person taken to hospital following Co Antrim collision involving pedestrian

A person has been taken to hospital following a collision involving a pedestrian in Co Antrim today.

Police have closed a section of the Carnmoney Road following a single vehicle collision this evening (Tuesday, August 17), in which at least one person has been injured.

It is understood that a pedestrian was involved in the collision and one person has since been taken to hospital.

Police are advising motorists to avoid the area and seek alternative routes for their journey while the road remains closed.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Motorists are advised the Carnmoney Road in Newtownabbey is closed following a single vehicle road traffic collision involving a pedestrian this evening (Tuesday, August 17th).

"One person has been taken to hospital. Please seek alternative routes for your journey."
