Person taken to hospital after three-car crash in Wythenshawe

A person has been taken to hospital after a crash in Wythenshawe.

Three cars collided on Simonsway, near the junction of Portway, at around 8.50am this morning.

One person was cut free from one of the vehicles by firefighters.

They were taken to Wythenshawe Hospital via land ambulance.

A spokesperson for GMFRS said: "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving three vehicles on Simonsway, in Wythenshawe, at 8.50am on Wednesday, 9 September.

"Two fire engines from Altrincham and Wythenshawe quickly attended the scene.

"One person was rescued from a vehicle by firefighters using cutting equipment and taken to hospital by NWAS.

"Fire crews were at the scene for around an hour."

Emergency services did not specify the gender of the injured person.

A spokeswoman for North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) added: "We attended the scene with a rapid response vehicle and land ambulance.

"We have taken one patient to Wythenshawe Hospital."
