Person taken to hospital after getting stuck on roof of industrial building

A person has been taken to hospital after getting stuck on the roof of an industrial building in Droylsden.

Fire crews were called to the incident on Franklyn Road at around 2.30pm this afternoon (Wednesday, September 2).

The casualty had to be rescued from the roof of a building using an aerial ladder platform, a GMFRS spokesperson said.

They were then taken to hospital in an ambulance.

The extent of their injuries is unknown at this stage.

A spokesperson for the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called at 2.30pm on Wednesday, 2 September, to reports of a casualty stuck on the roof of an industrial building on Franklyn Road in Droylsden.

“Two fire engines from Philips Park and Ashton-under-Lyne, alongside an aerial ladder platform from Oldham, quickly attended the scene.

“The casualty was rescued by firefighters and taken to hospital by the North West Ambulance Service.

“Fire crews were at the scene for around one hour and ten minutes.”
