Person taken to hospital after five car crash on Queens Drive

A person was taken to hospital after a five car crash on a major road.

Officers received a call at around 11.40am today following reports of a crash on Queens Drive in the Old Swan area.

It was reported that the crash took place at the junction with Prescot Road and involved five cars.

Emergency services attended and three vehicles were recovered.

Pictures of the scene showed three cars in a row which had been damaged following the crash.

An ambulance was also in attendance with multiple police officers on scene.

A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service said four people were assessed at the scene following the crash.

One person was taken to hospital A&E with non-serious injuries and another was taken to a walk-in centre.

A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service said: "Four patients have been assessed on the scene, with one taken to the emergency department with non-serious injuries another taken to a walk-in centre."

Road closures were in place between Queens Drive and Derby Road while the incident was dealt with, but have now been lifted.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "At around 11.40am today (Tuesday, December 14), we received a report of a collision on Queens Drive, in the Old Swan area.

"It was reported that the collision took place at the junction with Prescot Road and involved five cars.

"Emergency services attended and three vehicles were recovered.

"Road closures in place between Queens Drive and Derby Road while the incident was dealt with have now been lifted."
