Person taken to hospital after fire crews battle Arnold flat blaze

One patient has been taken to the Queen's Medical Centre after a flat fire in Arnold.

Emergency services were called to Douro Drive at around 10am on Thursday morning (September 10).

Speaking earlier in the day, a spokeswoman for East Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 10.02am on 10 September.

“The caller reported there was a flat fire. We sent a paramedic in a car and we are currently still on the scene.”

She confirmed at the time that one person had suffered minor injuries.

Witnesses saw smoke and were left wondering what had happened.

A spokeswoman for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service added: “Crews from Arnold, Carlton and Stockhill attended a house fire on Douro drive, Arnold, at 10am.

"Crews used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, a positive pressure ventilation fan along with thermal imaging camera. One man was treated by East Midlands Ambulance Service.”

Police were not required to attend.
