Person struck by train travelling to Ayr

Train services between Glasgow and Ayr were delayed last night due to a person being hit by a train.

The person was struck between Paisley Gilmour Street and Kilwinning stations as the train travelled to Ayr.

Scotrail made the announcement shortly after 9pm last night (Thursday), while advising train services due to travel between Glasgow Central station and Ayr, Ardrossan and Largs were subject to delay, cancellation or revision.

Scotrail Tweeted: “Sadly, a person has been struck by a train between Paisley Gilmour Street and Kilwinning.

“We’re working closely with the emergency services and will update you once we have more information.”
