A person has been struck by a train in East Lothian as emergency services close the rail line.
Scotrail services between Prestonpans and Longniddry have been disrupted and trains between North Berwick and Edinburgh have been cancelled as a result.
The condition of the person is not yet known.
The cancellations are due to continue until around 9am this morning with a number of services affected.
London North Eastern Railway, who has also have services disrupted by the incident, confirmed that a person had sadly been struck by a train.
They tweeted: “Due to a person being hit by a train between Dunbar and Edinburgh all lines are blocked.
“Train services running through these stations will be cancelled or delayed.
“Disruption is expected until 09:00.”
Rail tickets are being accepted on local Lothian bus routes and Scotrail have requested a bus replacement for the route.
In an update Scotrail said: “Arrangements are being made to allow services to start and terminate at Prestonpans, these services will be able to call at Prestonpans, Wallyford, Musselburgh and Edinburgh. I'm afraid North Berwick, Drem and Longniddry won't be served just now.”
