Person struck by train near Glasgow

A person has been struck by a train in North Lanarkshire this evening.

Emergency crews are attending the incident, which happened on the line between Whifflet and Cumbernauld in Lanarkshire at around 6:05pm.

The railway has been closed and services between Coatbridge Central and Whifflet will be delayed or cancelled, Scotrail confirm. Disruption is expected until 7:15pm.
