Person struck by train near Aberdeen as ScotRail services cancelled

TRAIN services across Scotland have been disrupted after a person has been hit by a train.

ScotRail said emergency services are currently dealing with an incident between Portlethen and Aberdeen.

According to National Rail, a person has been struck by a train between Stonehaven and Aberdeen.

To allow emergency teams to safely access the railway and carry out their work, all lines between the two stations are currently shut.

Due to this, the rail firm has said train services between Aberdeen, Glasgow, and Edinburgh may face delays, revisions, or cancellations.

Services between Dundee and Arbroath have been cancelled.

A spokesperson said: "A person has been hit by a train between Stonehaven and Aberdeen.

"To allow the emergency services to safely access the railway and carry out their work, all lines running between these stations are currently closed.

"Trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 15 minutes or revised.

"This is expected until 10am."
