Buses are to replace rail services between Formby and Southport after a person was hit by a train between the destinations.
National Rail Enquiries reported just before midnight last night that all lines were blocked and that trains running between the stations would start and terminate at Formby. Disruption is expected until the end of service.
It said: "A bus service is now running between Formby and Southport and a bus will shortly leave Southport for Hunts Cross. The Hunts Cross bus will be a drop-off only service after Formby."
