Person struck by train between Paisley Gilmour Street and Glasgow

A person was struck by a train last night between Paisley Gilmour Street and Glasgow Central.

All services were temporarily halted as the lines were closed while emergency services raced to the scene.

ScotRail  confirmed the tragic news shortly after 6pm.

The condition of the person hit is currently unknown.

A tweet from the rail operator said: “Sadly, due to a person being hit by a train between Glasgow Central and Paisley Gilmour Street all lines are closed.

“We’re working closely with the emergency services at the moment.”

The lines reopened at around 7.25pm.

British Transport have been approached for comment.
