Person struck by train between Paisley and Kilwinning

A person has been struck by a train between Paisley Gilmour Street and Kilwinning stations.

The emergency services are currently at the scene.

Scotrail made the announcement shortly after 9pm this evening (Thursday), while advising train services due to travel between Glasgow Central station and Ayr, Ardrossan and Largs are subject to delay, cancellation or revision.

Scotrail Tweeted: "Sadly, a person has been struck by a train between Paisley Gilmour Street and Kilwinning.

"We’re working closely with the emergency services and will update you once we have more information."
