Person struck by train between Paisley and Glasgow Central this morning

A person has been struck by a train between Paisley and Glasgow this morning.

ScotRail confirmed the incident, which happened at around 6.20am on the train line between Paisley Gilmour Street and Glasgow Central Station.

Emergency services are currently at the scene.

The line has been closed with a number of rail services cancelled following the incident.

A tweet from ScotRail reads: "Sadly, we’ve had reports of a person being struck by a train between Paisley Gilmour Street and Glasgow Central. We've had to close all lines while we support the emergency services. I'll update you all as soon as I can."

The disruption is expected to last until 9.45am with cancellation to the following services:

  • Glasgow Central and Ayr
  • Glasgow Central and Gourock
  • Glasgow Central and Wemyss Bay
  • Glasgow Central and Ardrossan Harbour
  • Glasgow Central and Largs

A further statement from the rail service reads: "Due to the emergency services dealing with an incident between Paisley Gilmour Street and Glasgow Central all lines are closed. Disruption is expected until 09.45."
