Person struck by train between Drumry and Dalmuir stations

A person has tragically been struck by a train between Drumry and Dalmuir stations this afternoon.

Emergency crews have raced to the area with trains on the line between Dalmuir and Westerton cancelled until at least 2pm.

Journeycheck report that services between Dalmuir and Larkhall, Dalmuir and Motherwell, Dalmuir and Westerton; Spring burn and Milngavie, Larkhall and Dalmuir, Cumbernauld and Dalmuir via Motherwell and Balloch and Airdrie have been cancelled.

Passengers are being asked to travel via Yoker.

Scotrail said: "Unfortunately we have had reports of a person being struck by a train between Dalmuir and Drumry. We are working closely with emergency services during this time and will keep you updated.

"COP26 delegates may travel on First bus also with their tickets.

"We've arranged for Glasgow Citybus to accept our tickets on their number 15 service between Milngavie and Glasgow city centre in both directions. If you have a #COP26 delegate pass, you can use this on any local bus route.."
