Person dies after being struck by train between between Maryhill and Ashfield

A person has been struck by a train between Maryhill and Ashfield stations.

The incident occurred at around 11.45am today.

Emergency services are in attendance at the scene of the incident.

ScotRail have confirmed that their Glasgow Queen Street to Anniesland via Kelvindale services have been suspended following the collision.

A British Transport Police spokesperson said: "We can confirm that officers were called to Ashfield rail station at 11:47am following a report of a person struck by a train."

UPDATE: Sadly, British Transport Police have confirmed the person was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesperson said: "We were called to Ashfield rail station at 11:47am 19/2 after a report that a person had been struck by a train. Officers from BTP attended alongside paramedics, but sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The incident has been declared non-suspicious."
