A teen was fatally struck by a Red Line train Saturday night in Edgewater on the North Side.

Chicago police said the 17-year-old boy was hit and killed by the train at the Granville station in what appeared to be a suicide.

The CTA announced the service disruption about 10:40 p.m., stating that trains were only operating between the Belmont Avenue and 95th Street stops.

Red Line trains resumed normal service about 2:20 a.m. Sunday, the CTA said.
