A person was wounded in a shooting Wednesday in South Shore on the South Side.

The female victim was shot in the arm at 12:54 p.m. in the 2600 block of East 75th Street, according to Chicago police. Her age was not immediately known.

She was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where her condition was stabilized, police said.

Area Central detectives are investigating.
